Sweet 16, Big Dreams & New Normals: A Mom Moment on Growth, Change, and Letting Go | Weekly Mom Moment
This week’s Weekly Mom Moment is a personal one — because today, September 19th, our daughter Sienna turns 16. 💖
Sixteen feels like such a milestone — and watching her step into this next chapter has me reflecting on everything she’s faced, overcome, and grown through. From building resilience and setting her own boundaries, to learning who she is and how she wants to show up in the world — I’m just so proud of the young woman she’s becoming.
But of course, in true family fashion, her big day is being shared with her brother, because tonight we’re cheering him on at his home opener. This season of life feels different — the house energy has shifted, our conversations have shifted — but seeing him living his dream and loving every minute reminds me why the hard moments of letting go are worth it.
And we can’t forget Tenley, who just made the volleyball team after working her butt off all season — proving to herself (and to all of us) that hard work pays off.
In this episode, I’m talking about:
-
🎂 Celebrating Sienna’s 16th birthday and the growth that got her here
-
🏒 Navigating the bittersweet moments of supporting a child living away from home
-
🏐 How Tenley’s perseverance taught me a lesson in commitment and belief
-
💛 The emotional juggle of parenting three kids in three different seasons — and still finding gratitude
This one’s for every mom trying to celebrate milestones, support big dreams, and keep her own heart steady in the process.
